Everything went really well yesterday. They were able to get the stone out easily and we were able to get home relatively quickly. I don’t know the size of stone or anything yet, but I go to a follow up appointment later next week and should learn more then. I just feel so blessed that they were able to do the procedure with out complications!

Thanks so much to Cookie, who watched Sage all day Saturday while we were in the ER and Nana, who came up yesterday to watch Sage while we were in the hospital. I am sad that I had to give Sage formula for the first time over the past few days (and the next few) but am very thankful she is taking to it so well. Unfortunately, my milk supply has gotten so low, I think I will have to supplement with formula from now, but at least I can still nurse some! And I am blessed to have been able to nurse exclusively for so long!

In Sage news, she is learning so much every day. She started clapping and waving this week, and yesterday stood up by herself for 12 seconds! Still no teeth,  but she did feed herself some of a crescent roll this morning. I am trying to find soft foods for her to try and eat that she won’t choke on.

She has turned into a major rolly polly! I didn’t think she would ever roll over very much, but she is rolling all around now, and almost ready to take off crawling! She is also rolling over from her back to her tummy every time we put her in her crib to sleep. This does not help her to get to sleep! She gets stuck and can’t roll back over and just talks and plays on her tummy. Last night she went to sleep on her back finally but when she was still asleep at 7am, we were surprised to find her fast asleep on her tummy! She slept another 30 minutes making it over 12 hours of sleep last night! Here is a picture of her when she woke up this morning on her tummy.

Prayer Request

Tomorrow at 3:00 PM Amy will have her kidney stone removed. It should be a simple procedure, but with all surgeries there can be complications. Please remember us and the doctor in your prayers tonight and tomorrow.

Beautiful Day

Today the weather was absolutely gorgeous! Since Sage is feeling better, we just had to get out and enjoy it. First, my friend Emily came  over and we went on a walk around our neighborhood with Sage and her daughter Holly. Then, after Sage napped, we went with Aunt Lauren and cousins Aidan and Avery to Breckenridge Park in Garland. It was a lot of fun and Sage loved the infant swings! She swung with Avery most of the time, and we got some really cute pictures.

In other news, I am helping lead a Ladies’ Bible study through our church that is just getting started. It is a video study by John Piper called Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ. I am really excited about it because it seems to be pushing me deeper than I have been pushed lately. Honestly, I have been letting myself get pretty dull spiritually as of late, and this study is a refreshing change of pace. I have been convicted most about savoring my time with God above everything else. Way too often I “don’t have time” to get to my daily reading, but I have time to watch tv, check friends’ blogs, or (try to) take naps. I am definitely working on putting my time with God first before I let the day slip away. Anyway…we have had two meetings so far and had a great turn out both times. I am very much anticipating where God will take us over these next six weeks.

If you want to memorize verses (in ESV) and you use an ipod, iphone, or any sort of MP3 player you MUST check this out!

Click here to see the post at the ESV Blog.

Have you considered using your iPod for Scripture memorization?

Blogger B.C. McWhite walks you through the steps for downloading and transferring passages of the ESV to your iPod or any MP3 player:

  1. Open another browser tab so that you can refer back to these instructions as you do what I tell you to do.
  2. Go to the ESV Online site.
  3. In the top right corner, click on the “Options” tab.
  4. Under “Audio Options,” click in one of the buttons for MP3 (I use David Cochran Heath because he has the most “normal” sounding voice).
  5. At the bottom left of the page, click the “Save” button (that should open a page that says, “Your preferences have been saved” at the top).
  6. Type the passage you want (e.g. Ephesians 4:29 or Matthew 6:25-34)  into the search bar and click “search.”
  7. When the passage comes up, you should see a link that says “Listen” next to the passage reference.  Control-click (silly PC users right-click) on the “Listen” tab.  A menu box should come up.  Click on “Save Link As…”
  8. When the box pops up, you will have to add an extension name on the end of the title if it doesn’t have one.  So, for example, if the title of your selection is “49004029? then you need to add .mp3 on the end, so that it reads “49004029.mp3?.  Save the file to your Desktop.
  9. Find the file on your desktop and open it with iTunes or Windows Media Player, or whatever you use.  You can then load it onto your iPod, MP3 player, or burn it onto a CD for your car.

Heart shaped cookies!

We are spending our Valentine’s Day weekend in.We celebrated with a Papa Murphy’s heart shaped pizza and I made cookies in the shape of hearts to match.  Sage caught the flu this week and the doctor said that she shouldn’t really be aound other people for a while, so homebodies we will be. We really like to spend the weekend at home anyway, relaxing and doing as little as possible, whenever possible…which is not very often.  Sage really had me worried for a while with temperatures in the 102s! That was on Thursday, and she is feeling much better now. Still a little out of sorts, but acting much more like herself. Here are a few random pictures from this week.

Holding sippy cup by herself!

Holding sippy cup by herself!

Last week was a little weird for us. I had some weird side pain (that I thought might be an ovarian cyst) but boy was I wrong! The pain started at 10am on Wednesday and by 4am Thursday morning I couldn’t take it anymore and made Cody drive me (and Sage) to the ER. I told the doctors everything I could. They all thought I was pregnant. When that test came back negative, they then though it was a cyst on my right ovary. “It will take thirty minutes to call in a sonographer to find the cyst,” the doctor told us. An hour and a half later, they wheeled me to the sonogram room and the lady is like “Looks normal, no cysts here.” So now the new doctor(the first one’s shift ended so he went home) comes in and has me retell all my symptoms etc. and says he thinks it is my appendix and they will do a cat scan x-ray thing to make sure.  They do the scan after another wait and finally the doctor comes in and informs me that I have a kidney stone. WHAT? I though I was too young for that. Guess not. We ended up being there from 5am to 10am on Thursday morning and I laid low the rest of the week and weekend. The annoying part was that by the time I got home and had pain meds and everything,  I wasn’t in pain anymore. I kept thinking it would start up again, but it hasn’t yet. At least I know now what it was and will be prepared for the future if it happens again.

In other news, we have the most adorable child on the planet, hence the NINE pictures I am posting of her from Sunday morning before church. Thanks cousin Emily for the dress! Enjoy!
