For the month of march I am not eating fast food.  This is going to be very difficult for me, because if you know me, you know how much I love Chick-fil-a and Whataburger.  In fact, I probably go to Chick-fil-a and Whataburger at least once a week (twice a week for Chick-fil-a).  Why, you ask?  Here are my top three reasons for doing this.

1. To save money.  As often as I go eat fast food, by not going I estimate I’ll save about $100 dollars this month.
2. To lose weight.  I’ve been gaining weight like crazy lately!  It’s time to make some changes, thus, this months challenge.
3. To challenge myself.  I eat poorly all the time, hopefully this challenge will force me to make some changes.

Today is March 9th and I’m fast food free.

I have been pretty bad at taking pictures lately, but here are a couple from the past month:

Christmas Picture, better late than never...

1.  We moved!  We closed on Dec 31st so you can image why we are so late in bringing in the new year.  We finally have the “major” things in order at our house where we can relax if needed.

Quickly, 10 things the I (Cody) love about our new house.

1.  More space.

2.  I have a study/room that I can close the door and not hear the other things going on in the house.

3.  Shower with a seat in it.  I highly recommend it, even if you have to bring your own seat into the shower.  No lawn chairs.

4.  It’s pretty.

5.  Our new refrigerator has a spot in the freezer for frozen pizza!

6.  Covered back patio.  It’s been too cold to use it but very excited about grill season.

7.  Serious, I’m not trying to be gross here, but the master bathroom has a toilet in it’s own little room.

8.  Kitchen island.

9.  Closer to church.

10.  Amy loves it.

Sage update:

She is growing up so fast.  It is hard to imagine that in a six weeks she is going to be an older sister.  Some of her latest tricks…

1.  Trying to scare Mommy and Daddy by saying “boo” all the time!

2.  She will try to say about any word we ask her to.  The responses we get are often hilarious.

3.  I think she is starting to make some progress on potty training on the number two side.  As of late, she tells us that she has pooped or needs to poop.

4.  Our new house has handles instead of knobs, so she has learned the joy of opening doors.

5.  Wow, she has been an amazing sleeper at the new house too.  We have been here 10 days so far and she has slept through the night every night.  The transition wasn’t hard for her at all.

Amy update:

First off, she is an amazing wife and mother.  She works very hard all day raising Sage, which isn’t an easy task when you are 33 weeks pregnant.  And check this out, the two nights I was home for dinner she had dinner ready for me when I got home from work, like I said, amazing!  Continue to pray for her as the latter part of the pregnancy is the most difficult.

Me update:

Busy as always, but doing well.  I’ve been trying to read a lot lately which has its ups and downs.  I’m not a natural reader, and if you know me, I tend to lose attention pretty quickly.  Anyway, I’m 80 pages away from finishing an Old Testament Theology by Bruce Walte (which is 969 pages long).   My new year’s resolution is to re-learn Greek.  I’ve been wanting too and a buddy from church has really encouraged me to do so I’m going to give it go.

We also had our fourth sonogram of this pregnancy – everything looked pretty good. Logan is measuring a little small so they are going to keep an eye on his growth the next few weeks. There was one point in the sonogram where Logan looked toward us and started moving his mouth like he was trying to talk to us! It was crazy and cute – Love this little boy already!!
