Quiet but Good

Comments

We haven’t been posting much lately but things have been going well at the Dixon house.  Sage is growing way to fast.  It seems like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital and now she is almost growing out of her car seat!  Amy is such an amazing mother and wife, I am so grateful for all she does.

I’ll try to post some pictures soon.

Super Smile

Sage is 16 weeks today!  We celebrated by giving her cereal for the first time which she apparently enjoyed!

We are so blessed to have such wonderful family. First, we got to see Cody’s mom, Beth (Cookie) and Grandmother, Ruth (G.G.) last weekend for a while and this past weekend we saw my parents Nana and Papa. We had a great weekend in Tyler and feel very blessed that Sage traveled so well. She slept the whole way there and back (not what happened when I took her to Tyler last month). Here are some pictures of Sage with her amazing family!

Playdate

Comments

We had our first baby guests over to our house for a playdate yesterday. My friend Angie and I taught second grade together last year and we ended up getting pregnant within a couple of weeks of each other. One big difference: she was pregnant with twins! Well, we were very excited to have the twins over to play yestarday. Isaac and Lily were actually born two months earlier than Sage and spent a lot of  time in the NICU before getting to come home a few weeks ago. While they are four months old and Sage is two months old, she looked a bit like a giant next to them!

Family Update

Sage – She just had her first set of immunization shots on Tuesday.  She cried SO much when the doctor gave her the shots (3), which was really hard for Amy and I to witness.  She is doing well now, but we are not looking forward to the 4 month check up!

Amy – She is an amazing wife and mother, and I have enjoyed watching her with Sage.  I know spending every moment with Sage can be tiring, but she handles it all very well.

Me – Working as always.  I had a rather odd experience with seminary this semester: they cancelled my class!  I’ve been trying to take an online class from Southern Seminary but that doesn’t seem like it is going to pan out either, so I may get an unwanted semester off.  It’s been fun playing with Sage because she starting to simile regularly and respond to me (at least I think so).

On a side note, we (I mean Amy) have misplaced the battery to our camera so pictures have been sparse lately.  As soon as we find we will post some more pictures.

This week Sage and I took our first trip to Nana’s House! It was a lot of fun to get to see my Mom and Dad, and Sage got to meet her Nanny, my grandma. Sage was an all-star on the way to Tyler; she didn’t fuss much at all. We spent all day Monday at Nana’s and I got to take a nap! Then Sage hung out with my Dad while Mom and I went on a little shopping trip. Tuesday was a very busy day. We went to pick my grandma, Nanny up from her house and brought her for an early lunch to meet my Aunt Laurie (Dad and Uncle Randall showed up for a while as well). Then we went back to Nanny’s and visited for a while. Next up, was a trip to Babies R Us to get a couple of things. After that we went up to the school that my Mom works at and introduced Sage to lots of new friends, including my first, second, and thrid grade teachers, from when I went to school there. Next it was off to meet Dad at his office and meet new people there too! To finish the day we went to the best Mexican food place in town, Mercado’s. After such a busy day, Sage layed low on Wednesday, but I got to catch up with my best friend over lunch and she came back to the house to see Sage for a while before we made our way back home. I don’t think Sage wanted to leave because she fussed a lot of the way home, but she must have worn herself out because she slept for almost EIGHT HOURS Wednesday night. It was a great trip, thanks to Nana and Papa for being so helpful!!

Check out the rest…

Sage and I were under the weather this week but we are both feeling much better.

Although Sage has been sick this week, she has been really good. Last night she slept from 11:15 PM to 6:00 AM! I never would have imagined that a 18 day old baby would sleep so long so early! I’m trying not to get cocky, because I know this may not be the case tonight, but wow, what a blessing!

Here are some photos from this week…

Dad (Pops) and Glenda came over the other day to spend some time with Sage. I captured a big yawn on video while Pops was holding Sage. but don’t worry Pops, it’s not because you’re boring!

You need to have flashplayer enabled to watch this Google video

Love you Pops!
